Djibouti Visa Requirements

To apply for a Djibouti eVisa, you will need to provide a few essential documents. These requirements apply to all eligible travellers. Check the list below and follow the submission steps carefully to avoid delays.

Documents Required for All eVisa Types

All Djibouti eVisa applications require the documents listed below. These requirements are standard across all eVisa categories, However, if you are applying for a transit eVisa you will need to provide one extra document, as explained in the next section.

1. Passport Biopage Scan

A clear scan of your passport bio page is required. Your passport must:

  • Be coloured, high resolution, undamaged, and free from glare or shadows.
  • Be valid for a minimum of 6 months from your arrival in Djibouti.
  • Show complete passport details, applicant photo, and MRZ.
  • Contain at least 2 blank pages for stamping.

Your passport details must match exactly with the information entered in your eVisa application.

2. Applicant Digital Photo

Upload a digital photograph of the applicant. The photo must:

  • Be recent and taken against a plain white background.
  • Show the applicant’s full face clearly with no side pose or obstructions.
  • Be without any filters, retouches or reflections.
  • Be free of any shadows.

Photos that do not meet these specifications may result in processing delays.

3. Hotel Booking / Invitation Letter From Host

Option 1: Confirmed Hotel Booking

If you are staying in a hotel throughout your stay in Djibouti, submit a confirmed hotel booking showing the hotel’s details, your name, and your stay dates.

Option 2: Invitation Letter From a Host in Djibouti

If you plan to stay with a host in Djibouti, you will need to provide an invitation letter from them. The letter must include the host’s full name and contact details, the address where you will be staying in Djibouti, and your intended travel dates.

4. Confirmed Ticket / Reservation

You must provide a confirmed flight ticket showing at least one of the following:

  • Entry into Djibouti or
  • Exit from Djibouti or
  • Onward travel to another destination

A round-trip ticket is also acceptable, provided it clearly displays the relevant travel details.

Additional Requirements for Transit eVisa Applicants

Besides the documents listed above, Transit eVisa applicants must also submit one of the following:

Option 1: Confirmed Onward Flight Ticket

  • Provide a confirmed flight ticket showing your transit through Djibouti to your next destination.
  • The ticket must clearly show the passenger's name, flight details, next destination, and travel date.

Option 2: Valid Visa for Your Next Destination

  • Provide a clear scan/copy of your valid visa for the next destination.
  • The visa or travel authorisation must be valid for the intended date of entry and clearly display the relevant traveller and destination details.
